    The Manics have had a long, successful career since Richey’s disappearance. Their music is definitely more optimistic and brighter since then, but it’s tinged with melancholy, which makes it more interesting.

    As you mentioned Oasis in this episode, Manics and Oasis have always had a good relationship, despite being a bit antithetical to one another. It makes sense, though—both groups are from working-class backgrounds, and both were very cocky at the beginning of their careers, hellbent on being the biggest band in the world. Also, the Manics have opened for Oasis. I believe Noel played WTSMG to James Dean Bradfield on a train before it was released.
