Just listed to the podcast. Why are you so unkind? Admittedly there was a time in my life when I hated the Eagles and everything that they represented. But I’m the last 10 years, as I have hit my late 50s and early 60s, I have come to admire the album. Maybe life has caught up with me, suffering from anxiety and depression, I can let the melodies and harmonies wash over me.
Also, for me, The Last Resort is an overlooked masterpiece. I’m not a musician so maybe on that level it fails. But as a musical journey for the listener it is reminiscent of Heroes and Villains and Surf’s Up. Oh, OK I can see your eyes raised to the heavens from here in a Brisbane Australia.
